We offer individual opportunities such as accessing the local community, shopping, cooking, visiting places of interest to help to build your communication, independence and social skills.

We aim to provide an opportunity for you to develop skills that enable you to take part in everyday living activities and help prepare you for transitioning from the family home into supported living environments. We actively encourage our service users to take advantage of overnight short breaks to help support them to have new experiences outside of their usual domestic arrangements. At Greenacres, we encourage our service users to access a variety of activities and opportunities in the local area that suit their interests and ambitions. Some of these include: bowling, golf, visits to restaurants and trips to the cinema.

My son is a 29-year-old service user who has been attending the Junction for many years.
This essential facility has enabled my son to attend 5 session per week providing him with fundamental life skills, welfare support and engagement with the wider community. The Stowmarket Award in 23/24 to WeCan@TheJunction is a good measure of the success of this facility.

[Name withheld] has been going to the junction approximately for the past six years now, both myself and my partner cannot stress enough the high regard we have of Cathy and her team (both past and present) and the way they have helped [Name withheld] to grow as a person. where most day services would have given up on [Name withheld] they have persevered and given her opportunities that would have been difficult for us as her parents to do for her.

I would just like to say that I feel the Junction is the best place for my daughter. She has Down syndrome and Autism. Since going to the Junction in Stowmarket she has progressed in her communication and understanding. She is in a safe place with dedicated staff which puts my mind at rest.

I am writing to express my thanks to The Junction for all the wonderful work they have done and continue to do with my son, who has Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties.
He has been with the Junction for many years, he attends twice a week, and loves to bethere with his friends and the fantastic staff. He has made huge strides over the years with improvements in his speech, behaviour, willingness to try new things, learning important life skills and improving his ability to deal with change. He feels safe and well looked after while he is at the Junction and I have no concerns about him while he is there.

As parents of a severely disabled adult son with both mental and physical disabilities, the “WeCan, Junction ” service has been an essential lifeline for our family. This invaluable day care and support service provides assistance that goes far beyond what we, as a family, could manage on our own.
The highly trained and dedicated staff and management at the Junction offer much-needed support, structure, and guidance for individuals like our son, who cannot navigate the challenges of the world independently. They create an environment where service users can gain a sense of purpose and achievement, enhancing their confidence and skills

Hello Cathy and Team,
Just a big thank you from myself and [Name withheld], for the great work and patience you have shown and the help that the Junction has played in supporting [Name withheld] with her positive support plan.
In 2021, [Name withheld] was described by the intensive support team as in a chronic situation, with challenging behaviour, self-harming and varying reports of concerns from her support team.
We are now pleased to say that [Name withheld] is again a happy and content young lady and that the junction and staff have had, and continue to have, a significant impact. The improvement in her behaviours is huge, and this is because she can attend the Junction. Her bespoke and varied timetable with activities both in and outside has helped enormously. The junction staff are invaluable; she relies on them totally for support. Her social and communication skills have improved immensely as have her health and fitness. She has made friends and has learned the meaning of friendship.
The service offered at the junction has undeniably improved the quality of her life.
The opportunities that the Junction have given to [Name withheld] have been amazing and he has a richer life due to the dedication, commitment, understanding and care of the team.

Whilst my child attends The Junction it allows me to work and have some time to myself in the knowledge she is being looked after in a safe and stimulating environment.
The Junction provides her with a wide social experience amongst her peers where she can develop friendships and enjoy group activities and advance her social skills. I know of nowhere else quite like it.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to The Junction for all they have done for our son and his peers. This service is a priceless and essential resource for parents with SEND children, of whatever age.
The staff team have a deep knowledge of his character and strengths and are able to make him laugh. They understand his behaviours, the triggers that may upset him and they have the strategies and patience to deal with these due to their close relationship with him.
They have successfully given him opportunities to socialise with his peer group which other services failed to do previously. He has also got used to a wider group of staff through the range of activities offered to him thus ensuring he is more resilient and not reliant on a small circle of people.
The Junction have supported him to make significant headway. At the same time, and, probably equally as important, The Junction has also underpinned our efforts, as his parents, to afford our son the best possible chance to lead as full a life as possible.
